About the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities

The Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities is a $25 billion investment and is one of Australia’s largest undeveloped gas fields located across an area of 80 square kilometres with estimated recoverable reserves of 12.8 trillion cubic feet of gas and 527 million barrels of condensate.

In September 2008, Darwin was Selected as the site for the LNG processing facility. A Final Investment Decision (FID) on the Project was reached in January 2012.

Construction of the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities began in 2012, with JKC Australia LNG Pty Ltd the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
